Our Approach
The Foundation for Youth Initiative (FYI) employs a community-driven and impact-focused approach to support youth, women, and farmer-led enterprises in South Sudan. Recognizing the urgent need for sustainable livelihoods, FYI works closely with local communities to co-create entrepreneurial solutions that address unemployment, poverty, and systemic gender inequality.
At the heart of our approach is the belief that entrepreneurship is a powerful tool for transformation. We provide technical assistance, mentorship, and training to build the capacity of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), cooperatives, and individuals equipping them with the skills and tools needed to generate income, build assets, and scale their impact.
FYI also leverages strategic partnerships with development agencies, government institutions, and donors to mobilize resources and deliver high-impact programs. Our innovation lab conducts research to inform evidence-based policy interventions, while our media and communications department amplifies community voices and raises awareness around critical social and economic issues. Together, these efforts drive inclusive growth and resilience across South Sudan.
